Is there a way of finding out and reporting on unconnected calls through CMS?

Depends what you mean by "unconnected".

If a call comes into the switch and hits a VDN then you can run VDN reports showing abandoned calls. i.e. call which are hung up before being answered.

If the calls are going to a DDI station then no.

If the calls are "abandoned" on the network before getting to the switch then CMS will not get to see the call!
