CMS do not have any translations to save/backup. All the File system is backed up under CMSADM backup and Maintenance backup has all the tables data.
CM-CMS communicate with SPI (switch protocol interpreter) that you may consider as translations, but it does not needs to be backed up. It communicate and negotiate after every data collection restart, or Busy-out, release mis link, or any scenario which causes link down issue.
