CMS for dummys (CKEditor)

I'm looking for a free CMS to allow my client to publish their own textual content in a small panel of a website and publish it.

I've tried CKEditor but it's leaving me confused as the example code im using only pulls up the editor itself on the page, there seems to be no publish button or any authentication method and the documentation seems vague to me.

Im an accomplished designer but not really a coder. I've handled PHPbb boards and WordPress but thats about it.

why not use wordpress if you are experienced with it? a widget sounds about right for what you are doing. the WP footprint is quite slight too.
