CMS Database Info

Does anyone have the documentation for querying the CMS database? (R2, but 3.x would work in this case).

I usually look it up in the SDK documentation, but there is something wrong with the links - the listing of fields appears, but I can't access the information about the field - in other words, I can see SI_KIND in the list, but clicking on it should give me the associated values but it does not (bad link).

Turns out it's a security issue with the help file.

If you’re trying to access them from the web then it’s a Windows issue and there are workarounds on the web.

If you’ve saved it locally, which I had done, you just right click on the file, select Properties, and you’ll see a button titled ‘Unblock’. That solved my problem.

What are you trying to get to in the CMS database? If you're trying to get to any of the data, you'll have to use the SDK - either through the query tool or by writing code in either VBA, Java, or any .NET language. The data that is meaningful is all store in binary BLOBs and there's no way to access it by querying the database directly.

Just trying to get some counts of various types of objects using the Query Builder in the Admin Launchpad.

Cool. I just wanted to make sure that you were actually looking for Query Language documentation and not trying to query the physical database.
