My CMS is physically connected the switch via an eight port digital card, using four wires and a 7400 data module. I would like to move the CMS connection on to a 24 port digital card. This will free up a carrier slot for something else. Is it possable to put this type of CMS connection on a regular 24-port card?

Do you have an option of using a tn 799b Control-lan card? This is what we are using right now and it works great. We use a VPN to connect the two. It also allows CSR managers to access CMS data from their desktop. One way to go. Wisdom is Knowledge

Thanks All Phoneman2

Unfortunately the switch is not on the network. I’ve checked into getting a CLAN, but my company isn’t willing to pay for the upgrades and equipment at this time. Thanks…

my CMS is connected over an X.25 Link.
I thought that a 7400 Data Module works only with a 4 wire digital Card. So you cant use it over a 24 port 2 wire digital card. Have Fun !

Phonetech,
You'll have to use 8400 datamodule to connect to a 24port digital line card. 7400 series works only with 4 wire digital line card & 8400 series works with 2 wire digital line card.

Hope this helps..
Regards
