CME CLID Question

Hello, I have a question about CLID on a CME, the customer has a PRI for incoming and outgoing calls. Currently when someone calls the displays only show the number the call originated from. Is their any way to show name and number and not just number?

The PRI must be ordered to show name and number. Check with your provider and see how it is provisioned. To see if name is being delivered, get into the PRI gateway and turn on"
debug isdn q931' You will see incoming and ougoing calls and it will show if the name is there or not.

NI2 is coming from the provider, but still only getting number and no name, it there somewhere in CME to set it up?

Doesn't h323 only support number and no name even if the provider sends it?
I am pretty sure that is the case.

So is 888-1 888-2 etc the trunk numbers in the NORTEL? There are no trunk numbers in the CISCO side for pure h323 trunks with no CISCO gateway involved. I know there are on the NORTEL however. The nortel in this case acts as the gateway so you need to look in there and see what is happenning.
If I had to guess the NORTEL is ignoring the caller ID coming from the cisco side and inserting the trunk number instead.

Just a thought.

you've posted in the wrong thread, but i think that that's right, the nortel is not accepting the incoming clid. how can I confirm this.

Did you run the debug command above? If so, you will see if the provider is sending the name. You can order a PRI either way with CLID number only or with name and number. Name and number costs more. You will need NI2 as posted above but name also has to be sent from the provider.
