Hi,

Ive moved into a job where i have inherited another persons problem :p

they purchased a cisco 3800 router to do a small (100 phones) voip network.

I have the cisco 7906G, 7985G phones working however they bought polycom soundstation ip 4000 confernce units with it.

Im using CME 4.1 and after any advice on how to configure the polycom units.

also any advice on setting up meetme conferences

many thanks in advance.

Check to see if the Polycom runs SCCP or SIP. If it only runs SIP, you're hosed. CCM 4.1 doesn't do SIP phones. It may do SCCP since the Cisco 7935 and 7936 are more or less just re-branded Polycom phones. You might even try to build it as a 7935 or 7936 just to see what happens.
I just Googled the phone and it looks like it's SIP.

MeetMe's aren't hard to set up. Just build the number of Conferecne numbers you want and put them in a Partition available to those that need access. Default limit is 4 or 6 callers I can't rememebr but the maximum is a lot higher. You have to change the maximum number in System Parameters.

CME = Callmanager Express, so no partitions or system parameters :D

I think on 4.1 Meet Me conferencing involved a T1 card in loopback or something like that, as of 4.3 is a bit easier to figure out.

Check Cisco's site, it's pretty well documented there. Be sure your 3800 router has the DSP resources required.

Duh, didn't notice the CME part jpm121. Thanks for the catch.
CME will do SIP endpoints. Look on CCO as to how to set up CME as a SIP registrar server. You'll probably also find the commands as to setting the device up. I've never done it myself.
