Guy’s,
I’m migrating an S8700 to S8800 system with new port networks. Will the new system work without the licensed IPSI (it will be running a 24hour system). I want to test the new system before going live with no downtime for the old system ??

No, you need to license the new system, you will have the opportunity in RFA to specify the new IPSI serial #'s, or if you are moving to a G450, you can specify the G450 Serial number.

If you are planning on moving the IPSI's from one PN to the other, then use a different IPSI (such as a standby IPSI) to license the new switch, and move that one over with the new license. The old switch can run without the standby IPSI.

The old switch will continue to run, with the old IPSI's until you shut it down.
