Hello...

I'm a cm newbie with a heavy Avaya background....I like it so far though.

One thing I'd like to be able to do is get data out of CM and into an access database. I can see where to export data via the bulk admin tool, but this action seems to take a really long time (and I want it now!).

My understanding is that CM uses sql as a backend...has anyone linked into this db using external db's like MS Access?

Thks.

What type of data are you looking for? For the dial plan, do a Dial Plan Report. It comes out as an Excel file whicj could be put into Access.

Lists of objects that i need to manage...

Phones, devices, pri's, etc...

Continually running web searches against them is a bit tiring, and if I have that stuff in a db I can create queries and display data in ways that the web app cannot.

ODBC connection to the call manager server, pull the data to another server, and query away.
You could do the query directly on the call manager server but it is not recommended or TAC supported. And if you corrupt the db you are hosed.
