CM 8.6 Issue Faxing

Hello,

I have 6 offices that are registered to a centralized CM running 8.6. 5 of the offies we had the same engineer and then a different engineer on the 6th location. All the sites are using VG224’s for their fax machines. What I’ve noticed with the site having an issue with faxing is that they are using SCCP and the other sites are using MGCP.

The problem with faxing for them is random… sometimes it works and other times it doesn’t. I haven’t run into issue with any of the other locations.

Could the protocol setting be the issue or ideas what else it might be? Thanks

Check your config on the VG224, make sure it includes:

voice service pots
 fax rate disable
!
voice service voip
 fax protocol pass-through g711ulaw
 modem passthrough nse codec g711ulaw
!

Thanks for the suggestion. I have 5 VG224’s and 3 of them had those statements and 2 did not… one of which is the location having issues. I added the statements and haven’t anything since so I hope it’s now good. Thanks
