We are about to go from CM 7.1 to 9.x on virtualized servers. Does anyone out there have any experience of this or something close? Can you tell me if there is anything I should be looking out for as far as issues encountered?

We intend to bring up the virtual servers in parallel and move over a site at a time so as not to kill the network with upgrades etc. Anyone any experience doing that?

Thanks

What questions do you have? Are you manually moving data or actually upgrading? As far as running it on VM it is fully supported on UCS and works with no issues.

We are upgrading. From our research and planning I do not foresee any issues arising, but even the best laid plans can get a kick in the butt when you are least expecting, so I was hoping that someone who had gone through this might have some words of wisdom, and alert me to anything to watch out for. With about 5,000 extensions on the system, I would rather be prepared.

There's always a curve ball when it comes to upgrades but it's usually specific to the environment and features getting upgraded. Since you are doing it in parallel you should be able to easily work around them.
Just follow the documentation and let us know if you have any specific questions.
