S8400
CM 4.0
New Install
Added login 'dadmin', suser, prof18
Installed License, S8400 can see SIPI, rfa has dadmin login activated

CANNOT ACCESS SAT!!!!

I've tried everything I can think of and have been doing this for like 9 hours now. What am I missing? The install docs say the dadmin login should be like the super users and be in prof18. The 'administering logins' doc says dadmin should be in prof2. Neither works. Craft does not have access to sat either (don't know if it's suppose to). I can login to website fine and to linux, but not CM. I've checked the 'id' for my login and it's there with the right settings. I've tried adding the login through 'cmuseradd' as well and that doesn't work either. The frustrating thing is I had to dial in to another customer's system and add a login for them today and it worked fine. So, there is obviously something I am forgetting to do the very first time.

Does anyone know what I'm missing?

you can't telnet into SAT anymore. You need to use SSH ( port 22 or port 5022 ) to access the system. The new version of ASA would default you to this port.

I have the exact same issue with S8700 CM 4 and a new install, if you managed to find the answer can you please post. like wise if i manage to work out why i will post

you can also access the web maintenance menu and enable telnet under the security section

Yes, I'm using SSH. I also turned on Telnet port just to see. No good either. Like I said, I can login to the server just fine (so, not an SSH issue), just can't do SAT. I'll post any answers if I get them today.

I ran into this during an upgrade. TIER 3 finally said that RFA creates the dadmin login using the 3.x standard. They removed then added the dadmin login from the Linux shell and everything worked just fine.

Unfortunately, I've done that too. I've also reloaded CM a couple times. No luck. I will call tech support this afternoon and see what they say.

Are you trying to use ASA? If you are here are a few things that I have done.
1. When you set up a connection thru ASA make sure the check box SSH is checked, and manually log in.(I dont think you can have log in automatically because of the added PIN security)

2.Enable SAT thru the maintenace web pages under SERVER Access and set ASA like you would normally but have it login manually.

Hope this helps.

OMG! I could kick myself for this! I PURPOSEFULLY did NOT load the .pwd file so that I could still get in with craft if all else failed. Out of desperation, I loaded the file just to see if that would do anything. Got in to SAT right away. It DOES NOT say that ANYWHERE in ANY documentation that I was able to find. So, heads up.
