For the last few days I have been having an issue with my computer randomly freezing and even after being left for 30 minutes the only solution is to pull the plug.

Today as I was closing the computer down I had several error messages saying the DDE Server Window could not be closed or words to that effect. A quick google suggest DDE is old technology and so that brings me to Goldmine.

I am running Goldmine 6.70.70226 on XP Pro.

Could the issues I am experiencing be due to GM and DDE? Everything was fine up until a few days ago so is there any maintenance I can do to resolve the problem? Please don't say update GM as that is not an option at the moment.

Thanks for any suggestions on this

Could be, but not likely. Could be Office. Either way it wouldn't hurt to refresh your dlls.

DJ,is that easy to do? Can you point me to any reference documents/instructions?

Neil

There is no documentation as far as I know. Just copy the DLLs from a fresh install of GoldMine.
