I have 4 systems connected via mpls. all the networking is working great but the analog sets i program on the outlying nodes are not able to dial out. I havent set anything in ARS though to tell them to use Node 1 to get dial tone and im unsure on how to accomplish this.

current set up is 1 MXE III with a PRI and 3 CXi's that are used just for fail over. All Phones are programmed on Node 1 with various nodes set as secondary incase connection is lost. Im not sure how to route outgoing calls from the other nodes over the PRI at node 1.

Thanks in advance

If restrictions are not an issue

Create an ARS route from system X to System 1 (you can probably use the same one you used for clustering)

Create ARS Dialling Strings (all types) to use the ARS route to system 1

Make sure the IP trunk COR is allowed to dial out of the system on System 1

Done.

OK, i will be trying that today when i make it over to the other site.

spinoff of that question is how can use the local dialtone on the CX's LS port for the emergency trunk group? all extensions are programmed on Node 1 with 2ndary nodes assigned.

Sorry, I missed something earlier

If the phones are already registered to Node 1 as their primary then no special routing is required. They will dial out as any phone would on the primary. Your issue is probably with restrictions (COR)

To force 911 out of the local controller you need to be Competent with ARS programming. 911 is not to be messed around with unless you know what your doing. Your questions lead me to believe your on the wrong side of the requirement. Hire someone.

The analog ckts are not on the primary node but i want to make them call out over the PRI on node 1.

im only 32 and have been somewhat thrown to the wolves on the 3300. I grew up in the Inter-tel world and am fine with the 5000 but only have some OJT and the 3300 basic class under my belt :(

Sorry, confused myself there for a moment

Analog - Yes as per my original suggestion
911 - Requires advanced ARS knowledge regarding restrictions and multiple routes

Are the systems in different 911 coverage zones?

found the answer on Mitel online. jeez. creating loops and routes and stipping digits!!

i respect the 3300 but love the 5000 :)

FYI it was on this answer:

Routing 911 to more than 6 Analog Gateways.

That post is ONLY necessary when more than 6 gateways are involved.

With less than 6 gateways it is much simpler

With the coming software release it gets even simpler

Respect the 3300 but love the 5000 is like saying, I respect my Cray but love my PC.

3300 is capable of so much more, it is necessarily more complicated.
