I have a clustered SQL installation which is configured as follows.
Two servers, each with two external arrays connected via SCSI.
One of the external arrays holds the quorum and cluster disks. The other array is of identical specification and is used to logship the contents of the primary cluster array. This provides us with a manual failover in the event of a catastrophic failure of the primary cluster array.
We are running on MS Win2000 Advanced, SQL 2000, and MSCS.
I now need to relocate this system, whilst maintaining it's operations. This will be done as follows.
1. Remove one of the servers and one of the external arrays, and move to new location leaving the primary server and array still functioning.
2. At the new location, setup second server and array to run independently.
3. Turn off primary server and array, making secondary server and array the new live pairing.
4. Transport former primary server and array to new location, and re-configure system with both servers and arrays as per original configuration at original location.
My question is, what are the steps to make this happen in the best/safest way ?
