Hopefully somebody is able to help me with the following:

We have 2 servers running on W2K Adv. server sp3 with a cluster attached.
When 1 server goes down for whatever reason, than the other server should take over the cluster.
The problem is that the cluster service on both machines will not remember the password for the assigned account to start the service. Everytime I have to type the proper password again for the service to start.
Error message: Error 1069: The service did not start due to a logon failure.
After having typed the password, then the service starts, and the problem is solved until the next fail-over.

Already checked everything stated by Microsoft.

Is there anybody who can help me?

I'll give it a shot.

1. Are you useing a Domain account something like systemservice that both machines can access.

2. Insure that the systemservice account has the proper permissions.

3. Insure that the services on each node are configured with the same password as systemservice.

4. I'll assume that you have a heartbeat network cable between the two nodes..

Hope this helps...

Conan3,

Thanks for your reaction sofar, here is the missing info.

Extra info:

Yes, I'm using a domain account, which is also a member of the domain admin group, and I also gave it the rights to log on as a service on both nodes.

Each node is configured with the same passwords.

The heartbeat is a connected through a x-cable, and is up and running.
