Hi Guys,

I've just started a new role, which not in the distant future will involve me having to administer the cluster servers in the company.

I have a little time to get upto speed and was wondering if anybody can advise me on the best books to buy or point me in the right direction for technical overview, principles, typical first step troubleshooting tips etc.

Once I've a little experience, I plan to take the MS exam, so any info to this and the above goals would be great.

Thanks.

There isn't a whole lot to managing a cluster.

The cluster has resources groups which contain resources. Each Resource Group has an IP address, network name, and at least one drive letter.

When Cluster Server is running it's a piece of cake. When it's not the errors are usually pretty good at saying what's wrong (At least the ones that I've seen).
