I have set up a failover cluster with 2008. We have a single instance of Lotus Domino running within the cluster. It is configured as a Generic Server, and a Generic Service.

There is a "check box" which says "use network name for computer name", should this box be checked?

The cluster name is "domino01.xx.xx"

The generic server name is "notes01.xx.xx"

The "other resource" is the generic service for controlling domino (and thats where the "use network name for computer name" is located)

There was nothing like this in Windows 2003 R2 Clustering and it was running fine there.

OK,

So you have a group, and in that goup you have an IP, a NAME, maybe some disk, and a generic service for domino. If you have a name resource in the group, notes01.xx.xx, then yes. If you don't then it'll use the cluster management name and you don't want that.
