Cloud based analysis - Large Data Sets 1

I review/analyze large multi-year data sets, usually 900,000 to 3,000,000 records for several clients on a

monthly basis using M.S Excel and M.S. Access primarily.

Currently, I visit the clients' offices - spending several hours at each client. Lot of time!

Would like to port this to a cloud-based system where each client can securely FTP the files to me so I can

perform the analyses remotely using M.S. Excel, M.S. Access or maybe PowerPivot.

Maybe, each client can have a unique username and password...

Any insight as to the preferred cost-effective method to accomplish the objective?

Any website templates I can use?

Is it preferable/feasible to have a dedicated server at my office to handle this or use a third-party firm?

Thanks in advance for any insight!

And why not setup your clients with VPN/Remote desktop/Citrix (just to mention some options) and perform that analysis on their network from your own home/office?

Thanks for the insight.

Ideally, I would like to consider several options - determine the advantages and disadvantages and then make a final selection.

With that being said, option 1 is to setup VPN/Remote desktop/Citrix for each client. Currently researching...

Also, currently researching how/if Office 365 should be considered.

Any other options that I should strongly consider?
