Hi all,
Please I need help. I am new for AIX, I am trying to install 4.3.3 in B50 model and every time I try to boot up from CD ROM I get this message.
"boot device: /pci@8000000/scsi@10/sd@3:\ppc\chrp\bootfile.exe
closing stdin and stdout ..."
Does any one have suggestion?
Thanks

Hi ,
is this stopping you from installing ?
it doesn't sound like an error message but could be when you boot from CD , rather then displaying messages , on the screen the process suspoends them for a while until it is suitable for the user it interact with the boot process off CD.

I see that message every time I boot our H50.

How long are you waiting after that message to decide that the install's not working? Booting from CD-ROM can be agonizingly slow, and time passes more slowly when you're waiting for more output on the console (at least in our data center it does. :).

yup ... it's a known fact that you can slow down time if you're watching a server while it's booting ;-)

Unfortunately, the time dilation effect is local to the console, so while you may age two days, you'll only be paid for the twenty minutes observed by management. :)
