When I do a netstat on our Domino server (windows 2003, domino 6.5.3)I get a ton of Close_wait sockets. The socket is from localhost to my dns server. Then the socket handle nerver closes, the socket remains in a CLOSE_WAIT state indefinitely. The available pool of sockets is eventually exhausted, and we have to reboot the server to close all the Close_wait states. This happens at least once a day.

You should download tcpview from sysinternals to help you with this. You'll be able to see which process on the system is creating all the close_wait's.
