For those who have been following the progress of my macro over the last month you will know that I wanted to run a C++ program from within excel. Thats all done and dusted. Now I want to close it or switch so that my sheet is on top. Closing the c++ program would be the preferred option. Its only because clicking the cross is too much like hard work for some.

The C++ program doesn't close on its own? You should be able to run the program minimized using WindowStyle:=vbMinimizedNofocus when you first shell out. To close a running process, I think you have to use API calls, which are not my forte - but others will be able to help you, if that's what you need.

The c++ program has been designed to stay open so that text can be cut from its window. The only way to close it is to click the x. Unfortunately the program cannot be minimized as a file open option within the window needs to be selected.
