close application A from application B

i am new to this forum. can someone tell me how to close application A when application B starts. and when application B is closing again start application A.

what you are trying to do is rather easy, but we need more info. to be able tp post the solution. What program is application A and what is application B? If they are both the same then you only need to close and open a different file not the entire application. Also, are you sure you really want to open a different application when another application closes, or are you trying to open a different file when a certain file closes. OPening applications when another application closes is tricky, and will prove very frustrating, since it will run EVERYTIME you close that app.
let us know... be specific and someone will have the answer.
