I need to close access automatically via VBA and re open it one time after, is that possible?

you can close it, but if you want to re-open it, you'll have to initiate another program/script before you close the db and let the other program/script do the re-starting...

If it is a timed function why not just schedule the next start up?

Here is what I am trying to do. I have a access program that fires up when emails are sent into a mapped MAPI inbox. That works fine, and I have it closing down when it is complete. I need to fire it back up 1 additional time after it closes. I do no how to do this without getting stuck in a vicious loop.

any thoughts, can I call a batch file that says to open it only one time? but they when it closes again it will open it again and repeat...

forget i said close down access, i really just need to close a form and then reopen it 1 time and then shutdown access?

i have code that runs via on open form. I need to run it, then close it down, then rerun it one more time.

sorry for the confusion...
