close a pdf or trap for error from VFP

I have a VFP applicaton using Crystal Reporting. I need to write to an Adobe PDF. My problem occurs when I try to generate the file again without closing the previous report in the Adobe PDF.

Program Error
File access is denied "location"\crystal reports activex designer - file name.pdf

How can I trap for this error or better still; prevent it by closing the pdf.
