hello,
I have some sql on an asp page I want to run, but not display the page.
is that possible ?

so far, I have a far, then click on a table row to email the name clicked on.
also attached to the onclick event I run the page to add the email address to a database.
this all works, but the page with the sql to add the email address is opened and stays open. can this be closed after the code has been run, or something similar ?

thank you all/.

hello,
of course in the onload event of the body.

I've done that now and it works, thank you.
but the box is open for about 5 seconds, runs the code, then closes, is there a way I can hide this box from view of the user ?

do not have any viewable attributes in the page and when the code is completed then do a response.redirect to the next or back.
let me see if I understand
you have per say two pages
first has a form in it that enters a email address into a DB but you don't want to leave this page when the process is triggered. Correct?

second page is the processing script. If you do what I said here in this page then it will appear as the user never left the originator. something like this
<%
do the insert
Response.Redirect "first page.asp"
%>

am I close A language that doesn't affect the way you think about programming is not worth knowing.

close,

the first page has a table with username, telephone, area

when you click on a table row, I then open the page with the Add Email address code.
when this page opens it runs the code, then closes.
but it takes too long to close, so maybe can I do something like Hide the page. ?
