Hi there,
I would like to clone our production filesystem cluster configuration to our brand new test environnement...I'm a newbie to clustering..So i do not know exactely where i can start?

Thanks

Clone? You won't be doing that, cluster records disk signatures.

To set up your test environment, you need AD. Cluster nodes must be members of a domain. I'd start by putting a DC in your test lab. Next, I'd record the cluster configuration on the cluter you want to reproduce. Clusdiag does a good job of that. From the data, you should be able to create a decent facimile of your production environment.

You have a shiny new test lab; many of us don't have that luxury. In my case, I have a couple of old dual xeon boxes with 4GB of ram each. I find it quite useful to work with virtualization products like virtual server and vmware when testing functionality/process of designs. Lately, I'm been doing a lot of iSCSI cluster work, so I managed to obtain the data ONTAP simulator from Netapp. I run that on a eunuchs box, also in a virtual machine. The setup is good for prototyping, proof of concept, process validation, etc.. This setup's major shortfall is performance. It's useless for generating any kind of useful performance data.
