cloning mac address?

Do you think it is a good idea to clone the mac address of your PC (or of just another valid address from another vendor) so that your router's original mac address is not seen? The reason I'm thinking this is so that the MAC address cannot be accurately identified with the equipment vendor for the router.

to my knowledge, cloning MAC addresses is just so your ISP does not have to re certify your account, it still looks like it is going to the same address

I tried to remain child-like, all I acheived was childish.
