Cloning a mac os 1

Is there software that can clone the mac os and apps that are installed? I use ghost for windows is there something similar too it.

It will depend on the OS version you are using, plus weither you have enough licences to do this.

On OS 8.1 to 9.22 you could diskcopy! Build your perfect HDD then make a diskcopy of it to another drive or a server.

Not sure about OS X

If you can't fix it in 20 minutes call someone who can.
 
I too have successfully used Carbon Copy Cloner and bootcd. It was a pretty straight forward process following the instructions in the document provided. Booting using a OS X CD is painfully slow but it does function and I was able to copy disk images to a network server while booted from the OS X CD I created.
