I have a server that we just loaded 11.23 on. I have updated all the kernal parms, created the new mount points on vg00, created pageing space etc etc etc....

What is the best way to clone the system and install over another server? Want it to look the same since one will be the production and the other a dev/test for the same application.... They are both the same type of server.

In using AIX, I would create a mksysb tape and then install in on the other server... Just would need to update the hostname and then the ifconfig for the new IP address...

If I am barking up the wrong tree or this is a can't get there from here... Let me know and any better ideas would be appreciated...

Thank in advance... Prior suggestion from this forum have been great....

If the hardware you're cloning onto is similar, just create a make_recovery tape ... and remember to change the name and ip address when rebuilding your clone.
