I just replaced a hard drive. I have other machines with the same models. How can I clone the new hard drive? Ghost can do the job, but is there any freeware?

I am new to Novell. The last Novell administrator clone new machine by connecting it to the network and it automatically download an image on the server to install. When the hard drive failed, I connected the mahcine to the network, but no image is downloaded. How can I configure the machine to automatically download the image on the server?

Ok, Would you guess you're using ZENworks? Or another imaging system? The question you are asking is pretty wide open. Novell's ZENworks will do imaging, and it does it very well. But everybody doesn't use it. Some people use other imaging software like Ghost, even though they already have licenses for ZENworks.

On your servers, do you see anything that says "ZENWORKS". Do you have these folders on your server:

SYS:pUBLIC\ZENWORKS
SYS:ZENWORKS

Or ZENWORKS folder on any other volume?

Yes, I see it SYS:ZENWORKS.
Also, there are new machines just bought. Please show me how to add these machines to Zenworks, too. Thank you.

So we know you have ZENworks.. Good.

What to do next is another open question becuase there are different ways to do imagin, and it's hard to know what you are using.

I would recommend reading Novell's documentation about ZENworks imaging. If you then have any specific questions or still don't get it, just ask..
