Hi,

Has anyone else experienced a problem with the Clone tool when zoomed in on part of an image? It's fine at 100% but as soon as you zoom in and use it, it's like steering a tank through treacle, you move the mouse and 10 seconds later the clone tool catches up with it...

Andy,

I haven't noticed this to be the case. In fact, I didn't notice any slow down while zoomed, and I use the clone tool a lot while zoomed. I'm running a P4 3.1ghz with 512mb of RAM, though...so maybe I'm not the best one to ask. Sorry.

Andy,

It sounds like you have an extremely high resolution image. Computer speed could play a part. What are you running on, and what resolution is your image?

I have an AMD 1800+ with 256MB, and have no problems with version 9 or 11. I have run into problems with version 9 using a PIII 650 with 256MB and a 600+ DPI image zoomed in tight.

Depending on the final output of your image, if you can drop the resolution, it might resolve some of your problems. If you are looking for high res for a printed output (photo quality) you are just going to have to grin and bear it, and drive that Mac truck slowly through the mud.

HTH,
Russell

Hi,

Problem solved by updating my video driver.

Thanks for the feedback!
