I am not a Northern guy but I am working with some guys who have a CS1K in Mexico City and they are having a clocking problem with my equipment which is a Sonus GSX gateway.
My Sonus has PRI E1's connected to Telemex which I am using for reference clocking. My Sonus is also connected to the CS1K via regular E1's.I am not experiencing any clock slips. The CS1K is reporting clock slips all the time.
The CS1K also has a PRI E1 connected to TELMEX.
We tried to change the primary clocking source in the CS1K to the E1's they are receiving from me.When they did they still got slips and then the PRI from TELMEX in the CS1K started slipping as well.

Any of you Nortel experts have any ideas? I would appreciate any info so as to help this customer.
Thanks

We don't do E1's here in the US but clocking is clocking. The CS1K needs to have a reliable clock source for timing. Typically this is the local carrier for the best reference as is for any PBX, not just Nortel.

The best thing to do is to get in LD 60 and STAT the circuit and clocking status.
Do LCNT to list out what has been happening and do your SSCK xx etc to check that your circuit is locked and not stuck in FREE RUN. We use the same commands for either type.

All the best

If it's working, then leave it alone!.
