The system clock on my Netra X1 server seems to have stopped. The clock displays:
$ date
Mon Oct 14 11:25:05 EDT 2002
even though hours have passed. Sometimes the time even looses a second.
i.e.
$ date
Mon Oct 14 11:25:04 EDT 2002
I have checked to make sure I am using the REAL date command /usr/bin/date and a cksum on an identical machine reflects the correct date program is being run. Rebooting the server did advance the clock to the current time, but it is once again not moving.

Any ideas???

Sorry, don't really have a clue, but could it be related to problems with a battery on the board?

Do you have xntpd running. If you sync to a dead clock this may happen Too bad I.T. is not cash business

This problem was a result of a hardware failure on the system board. Once I put my disk drives in a new Netra X1, the problem went away.

Thanks for the responses,
Brian
