Anyone had a problem with the clock not keeping very good time? Any remedy for that?

Yep. Just cut over from a CICS to a MICS. The CICS kept perfect time.

Do they have Caller ID cards in the MICS now?
If so, then one possibility is that the AUTO TIME & DATE feature may be retrieving the time from the telco which is 5 minutes behind yours.

Yep and using a BRI as well as a caller id card. Does the system set it's time on either one of those? if so, can it be stopped?
