I haven't found anything on clobs in this forum.

I'm using Oracle and would like to create a report with a clob field. I created a simple test table with an id and a clob field and when I want to preview the data I get the error ORA-00932: inconsistent datatypes.

Is anyone using Oracle clobs successfully?

I've been using crystal reports for 4 years and I have never heard of a clob. Care to define it? Software Support for Sage Mas90, Macola, Crystal Reports and Goldmine

Oracle's definition: CLOBs (Character LOBs) store large blocks of single-byte fixed-width character data from the database character set.

We are using CLOBs in our database because varchar2 is limited to 4000 characters which is not enough for our purposes.

Is there anyone using clobs?
