Clipping path stopping rest of doucment printing but not displaying,

I've cut and pasted an object inside a clipping path into a document. This is stopping the rest of the document (outside the clipping path) printing, but not stopping it displaying.
So: - 1. Should this be happening?
2. If it should, then how do I bring the clipped graphic into this document without the clipping path?
3. If it shouldn't , any idea how to stop it?

I'm using the pprint area command.
Layers aren't the probem at all - I merged all foreground layers and the problem persists.
FH10 winXP.
