The solution.
Sorry for my long silence, but I was looking around for Clipper 5.2e.
An year ago I've found it, but using it nothing changed.
But some months ago I noticed that on a little netbook with XP Home the freezing didn't start.
but on a notebook and on a desktop with the same version of XP Home the freezing started again after 3-10 minutes.
So i asked to myself "What's the difference beetween a netbook and a desktop or notebook ?".
The answer is "no parallel port on a netbook".
At the start of my program I test the parallel port with the function ISPRINTER () before sending a printer reset command.
But in these last years I don't use a parallel port printer, but only USB printers, so the parallel port is empty (but I repeat, without any problem on win98SE) .
Disabling the function ISPRINTER () the freezing doesn't start !!!
In the other parts of my program the ISPRINTER () function is called only if an user option USE_LPT1 is set to True.
Thanks for your helps, friends, and sorry again for my bad english !
Bye
