I'm finished my application for Point-Of-Sale POS using but now I wan't to enable for users to use BarCode Reader device. What I need to do to my application using keyboard and Serial Reader for selling products.

Can clipper automatically response on serial input from Barcode and enter data into gets or I must do something.

Does the bar code reader have to be a serial one? I have worked on applications that prompts the user to enter in a number on a form. If the user has a barcode reader that piggy-backs off of the keyboard cable, they can scan the number in. The validation of the GET checks what is scanned in for any errors. Without a scanner the user just has to type in the number under the barcode.

If it has to be a serial reader, then you need to some communication software to handle the input from the serial port. I also have used serial readers and use SilverClip has my third party library to handle the communication.

Let me know which of the two ways you need to go with this.

hi ,
I wrote an application which uses barcode readers. For your question . Answer is "yes " you just get the number from reader as a normal get /read function.
