Recently upgraded ePO from 2.5.1 to 3.0.1. Shortly afterward, I upgraded the client machines from VirusScan 4.5.1 to VirusScan Enterprise 7.1. Now when I look at the 'Product Protection Summary' report some of the clients report both 'VirusScan Enterprise 7.1' and 'VirusScan'.
I have removed the old ePOAgent folder and tried unsuccessfully to find any registry key that may be reporting the 'VirusScan' information. Does anyone have any idea why I'm getting multiple reports from the same clients?.....dj

The only way I've done it is to visit the computer you are having the problem with. Uninstall everything associated with McAfee; VirusScan Enterprise, VirusScan 4.5.1, and the Agent. Make sure the folder C:\Program Files\Network Associates is removed. Then go to the registry and locate the following folder and remove it: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Network Associates. Once you have done that install the agent again and everything should be fine. I know it's a pain to have to visit each computer to resolve the problem but unless you can do all that remotely that is the only way I've found to do it.

Thanx for the suggestion but that looks like far too much work! A thanx to friend 'DJ' for pointing me to a NAI knowledge base article - nai26673 - and the simple fix on this one. Seems as the upgrade didn't remove all the registry keys, thereby causing it to report multiple versions.
Follow the KB article to delete the extra ones - next time the agent checks the extra entry is cleared from the database and all is well!
