I am using CA BrightStor ARCserv backup for linux 11.5 SP3 installed on a Redhat As4 server. From the GUI when I try to back up all clients. I have 30. I get a prompt for each client to enter the root password. How can I get around that I would like to not have to enter the password.

Thanks in Advance.

edit each uag.cfg in
/opt/CA/BABuagent.
Add this line to end of file:
-S
Then type:
caagent disable all
caagent enable all

Hi David,

Have a few questions on the same...
I see that -S is a single user mode, does this bring my server down to single user mode? Are there any advantages or disadvantages of using this option?

Please do respond back..

Thanks in advance

The server itself is not put in single user mode.
BAB will login without a password. This could be a
security risk.

Have the client check the –ALLOW and –DENY
options in the uag.cfg file and set them as he thinks is
appropriate. He will need to do this in each uag.cfg file.

It would be easier to add the passwords in the job.
He can save the job as a script in case he needs to resubmit
it.
