Hi
I have had a problem running Exchange Server 2000 with SP3 on Windows 2000 Server with SP4.
Users cannot connect their Outlook client to the Server first thing in the morning. All Exchange services appeared to be started OK. After 2 reboots the problem seems to be resolved - for the time being anyway.
The first relevant in the System Event log states:-
Access denied attempting to launch a DCOM Server. The server is:
{9DA0E10D-86CE-11D1-8699-00C04FB98036}
The user is SYSTEM/NT AUTHORITY, SID=S-1-5-18.
Subsequent errors state:-
Registration of the DNS record 'waltersmicro.co.uk. 600 IN A 10.72.30.13' failed on the DNS server (with IP address %3) with the following error:
%2
The DNS server returned an error code given in the Data field.
Any help with resolving this would be greatly appreciated. I need to know what causes this problem and how to stop it happening again.
Regards
Jules
