I have an office network where my server has two NICs, one connecting to all the clients and the other connecting to a D-link 604 to a static IP on the internet. I've
installed Extranet on several clients with no luck. Although it's of little practical use, I installed the package on the server, and it works fine from there.
My server is running DHCP for the local network and NAT for translating the traffic towards the D-link. I can sniff this link and see the NAT mapping (192.168.0.31:500 ==>
10.0.0.1:2650) and the NAT table in the server shows the mapping headed for port 500 on my Extranet server.) There's no response from the internet.
The server located package, which works fine, doesn't need the NAT mapping, since it's the parent IP.
My provider claims his server works fine with all the other users, with all routers (except Cisico).
I've told my D-link firewall to pass everything with no improvement. Today I'm going to remove it as a test, leaving my server open to all traffic.
I've chosen the two-NIC solution because my server has to route some IPs to a demand-dial connection and I eventually need to configure a VPN server on it. (W2KServer)
