Have ISA installed using a dial-up connection.
Rules and filters are in place to allow all access.
Clients are running FW client software and can access web sites but no connections made using Outlook or Outlook Express.
Also, would like to be able to ping external addresses from the clients. I've enabled IP routing with no success.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I had the same problem when I setup ISA Server, this can be rectified by viewing the policy where you have 'Allow All' selected in the drop down box, then on the next tab there is a list of protocols, in this list you will see SMTP, POP3 etc. You just select which to allow for the user, machine or group.

Sorry I cannot be precise with the window and tab names but I am out of the office at the moment, if you would like me repeat this later with more details I can.

Yes, please repeat later with more details.
I've tried many different rules and filters with no success.
Thanks...

Ok, from within the ISA Management window expand the 'Access Policy' branch of the tree in the left pane, then under 'Protocol Rules' I setup a rule for the staff. In the new rule properties window, select the protocol tab and ensure POP3 & SMTP are selected in the list.

Hope this sorts you problem.
