For the first time in at least 3 years when generating a report using RAS (CE10) VIA ASP page.. We encounter error msg:

clientdoc.dll error '8004100b'

Hi,
Was there more to the error message?

Does the Event Viewer show any further message(s)..

clientdoc.dll error '8004100b'
Not a valid logon token

In the Event log we encountered:

CMS is unstable and will shut down immediately. Reason: Database access error. Reason[Microsoft][odbc sql server driver] Communication link failure

Hi,
You have a problem with what I assume is your CMS database..Without that, the CE system is unusable and your current setings/permissions.etc are at risk [flush]..

Fix the database connection issue or create a new CMS and migrate the current data to it ( assuming you have solved the connection error)..there should be a message or messages about why the SqlServer link failed..Is it on the same server as the rest of the CE stuff?

Hi,
Since it is SqlServer I am not knowledgeable enough to say ( we are an Oracle shop).
Have your SqlServer administrator check it out ( especially any errors generated by the attempt to connect from the CE servers..or any permissions that may have changed)

The error could also have been caused by a network failure, so that the connection failed..Is the CMS server on the same subnet?( it should be, to avoid router issues)
