I'm a little confused by your post. If you are saying that you are trying to install the client on a Server it will not work. There is some hacking you can do to make it work, but you should really install the server version on that box.
In the mean time, if the server is sending out thousands of emails, take it off line. Your best bet is going to wipe and rebuild the server.
Installing the server versions doesn't necessarily mean that it HAS to be a server, so polymath5's reply is right, including taking that machine and rebuilding it.
Well I did get rid of the emails without rebuilding it. Through a lot of trial an error...
I went into Exchange and set the Inbound/Outbound delivery to "Off flush all queues".
But the client still will not install on that box which just so happens to be runing NT server. Seems the Installer program is corrupted which is a Microsoft thing.
