Hi there, I am using mysqlCC to try to connect to a 5.0 mysql server, and I am getting the commom
Client does not support authentication protocol requested
by server; consider upgrading MySQL client
error

Has anyone updated the mysql client for MySQL ControlCenter before? If you can outline the basic steps (google didn't give me much help on this), that will be really great.

Development has been stopped on MySQLCC for quite some time. Though you could recompile it to use a modern version of the client library if you want. If that's not on, then you would need to use a more modern client, like MySQL Query Browser.

I tried Mysql Query Browser, but I really prefer MySQLCC a lot since it lets user type in data entry or easily create tables through the UI (which is a lot faster sometimes than typing in long sql statements).

Is anyone aware of a better Mysql interface that is currently being developed? I wonder why they've stopeed supporting mysqlcc ....

I use SQLYog. and it works pretty much like MysqlCC did. Try googling for it.

Thanks for pointing that out vacunita. The only thing that it doesn't have I guess is letting users connect to multiple windows at the same time;

But i see there are a lot of new features that mysqlcc didn't have. Thanks!

Yeah I know, but its the closest I could find to MYSQLCC.

Still the Multiple windows came in really handy, and in an attempt to mimick it, i open several instances of the app. connected to different things.

Yes, I am starting to like it already :)

There's also MySQL Administrator, which looks after the database-maintenance end of things. It's designed as a partner to MySQL Query Browser.
