Client-Side Search Engine

I'm working on an HTML documentation project that will not be using a web server. Essentially, we will send out the collection of documents, and our first HTML page will allow the user to navigate the collection. We are finding it very difficult to find an adequate search engine to fit our needs. We have one Java search engine, but are looking for something that will take care of String searches and be able to highlight the resulting words in the page. Do any of you know of something that would work in this environment. If you do, please let me know.
