Im having s problem with just a couple of users systems on a windowsNT network when trying to access other users shared drives. ayntime, i try and access a specific users system i, i get a message such as the following:

\\<pcname> is not accessible.

Logon Failure: The user has not been granted the requested logon type at this computer.

other systems on the network, im able to access fine by going to \\<pcname>

does anyone have any suggestions? Ive already tried removing the machine from the domain and readding it, also tried refreshing the ip (im using DHCP), and also am able to ping the pc im trying to access, and get a response just fine. I just cant access the system to see any shares.

create local username and password on the NT workstation that match the username and password that you are trying to access from...

Make sure you are actually logging in with all systems too :)

I tried adding the usernames to the local users on the station I wish to give access to, but im still having the problem. According to the MS knowledge base, this is an error with WindowsNT regarding the service packs not being up to date between the two systems. Im going to try updating the systems to SP3 and see if anything changes for the better.
