client/server programm help on Borland C++

Well,i want to make a chat program on Borland C++ 6 with VCL for interface,but not with Delphi.I don't know what to do.I tried to start from somewhere,but i' m very confused.Is there anyone who can help me???What components should i use and what
code should i write for start?Just to send and receive messages..

Off the top of my head, I can think of a couple ways to to this. You will need a memo component and socket connections.

Depending on what type of compiler you are using, you may have access to FastNet component which has components built in.
